Get your glow on this summer without going broke.

Do you ever feel like social media is just one big ad for the latest and greatest beauty products? Well, you’re CORRECT and most of them aren’t worth the hype. As someone who’s been slinging makeup for over 18 years, trust me when I say there’s a cheaper dupe for pretty much everything.

I’m not knocking prestige brands, my kit is FILLED with them. However, you don’t need to spend a lot of money to get good results. The beauty industry loves to throw around words like “revolutionary” and “life-changing,” but the reality is the changes are miniscule. Your lifestyle has much more to do with your skin and beauty than anything else. Wear sunblock, don’t smoke, exercise, and eat a nutrient dense diet.

GOOD news: Here’s five beauty dupes that are perfect for a natural summer glow without emptying your wallet.
  1. Paw Paw Beauty Blender ($10 pack of 6) I’ve used Real Techniques Complexion sponges for years. Partially, because I got them free (I wrote their company blog for 5 years) but they also work really well and are less expensive than the Beauty Blender. However, I recently tried a 6 pack of the Paw Paw Beauty Blender, and I can’t go back for that price.
  2. ELF Camo CC Cream ($15) I’m a big fan of IT Cosmetics CC Cream $47 for everyday use (I use a long-lasting foundation for clients) but ELF offers nearly the same product for much less. Plus, it’s infused with skin-loving ingredients like hyaluronic acid and niacinamide, so you can feel good about what you’re putting on your skin. Skin care, medium coverage, and broad spectrum sunblock all in one!
  3. Pacifica Bronzing Drops ($16) Tweens have been dropping $28 on Drunk Elephant Bronzing Drops but you can get the same benefits for almost half the price with Pacifica which has similar anti-oxidant ingredients. Mix drops into a moisturizer to add a subtle glow or mix into your winter foundation or cc cream to match your warmer summer skin.
  4. ColourPop So Juicy Lip Gloss ($8) Lancome Juicy Tubes are a hefty $25 which is just too much for a sheer gloss. So Juicy feels great on the lips with a refreshing (plumping) peppermint tingle while nourishing Jojoba Oil + Vitamin E hydrates and conditions lips. Tints are barely there so you can’t pick a wrong shade!
  5. Maybelline Fit Me Loose Powder ($11) You see pricey “baking” powders like Huda Beauty Easy Bake Powder at $38, but you can get the same effect with my go-to, Maybelline Fit Me. I switched from prestige powders to Maybelline Fit 4 years ago because it works! It’s powder, people, it’s removing shine, after a 10 minutes I dare you to spot the difference.

With these affordable dupes in your arsenal, you’ll get great results without sacrificing your hard-earned cash. So next time you’re tempted by the latest beauty craze, remember: there’s likely a cheaper alternative that works just as well, if not better.
